Reporting Incidents
Office of the Ombuds
The Office of the Ombuds provides a confidential, safe space for students, staff, and faculty to talk about concerns and problem-solve issues arising from interpersonal and group conflict. They encourage reporting of incidents since it allows the University to follow up, investigate facts and determine whether University policies have been violated. If you have any questions or concerns about making a report, you can talk with the Ombuds Office confidentially about the situation and your options (see here).
Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination
The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) works to resolve complaints of unlawful discrimination and unlawful harassment through formal investigation or alternative resolution. They also explain and clarify university policies and procedures regarding unlawful discrimination, unlawful harassment and retaliation. They also collaborate with other UC San Diego offices in resolving complaints. Finally, they offer a variety of training programs and workshops in the prevention of sexual violence, sexual harassment and all forms of discrimination for students, faculty, and staff.
